Last updated: 23 March 2026
What the app does
Eli is a personal assistant app built by Graham Parkins for private use. It runs an HTTP server on the device to provide camera, location, orientation, audio, and device status services to a trusted home server.
Data collected
- Location: GPS coordinates, used for location tracking and shared only with the paired home server (parkins-1) over Tailscale VPN.
- Camera & microphone: Photos, video, and audio recordings captured on demand via the HTTP API or on-screen controls. Stored locally on device.
- Device orientation: Accelerometer and magnetometer data for compass and orientation display.
- Device status: Battery level, charging state, temperature, and volume levels.
- Logs: App diagnostic logs stored locally for debugging.
Data sharing
Data is shared only with the paired home server over an encrypted Tailscale VPN connection. No data is sent to third parties, advertisers, or analytics services. No data is sold.
Data storage
All data is stored locally on the device or on the paired home server. Photos and recordings are saved to the device DCIM folder. Crash reports are stored locally and optionally sent to the home server.
